Hey all, been a while since I posted here =) Something interesting just happened, just thought that you guys might be interested to know..

A hairless pink mynah chick was found and given to me by my hostel mates, who knew I was handfeeding parrotlets and had a supply of formulae on hand and the tools to feed. So I took it in, and started feeding it in one hour intervals as research online told me it was probably only 3-4days old *sigh* it must have been blown out during the huge long storm last night, as another chick body was found too..

It has bruises on its head, which I hope won't pose any more problems and will heal nicely.. will update you guys more tmr!

more photos and updates @ http://edwardslife.blogspot.com/ sorry in a rush, can't post properly.

Amazing! Ed, if you manage to raise it, I believe it will be a very tame bird! Mynahs are such intelligent birds... almost like parrots! And they can talk if trained!

It's so funny how the yellow beak is so big even though the baby is young Very Happy

Maybe it is the color for babies. I had three mynahs before, young ones. They like mealworms btw. I remember my dad cutting the mealworms into small portions for one of them. (Cutting them is not for the faint hearted.) Definately will be tame one.

Wow. The baby is very ....ehh... young? Very cute. I never see a baby mynah before. Beak seemed to be very wide and big. Wondering

hehe there're some pretty useless strands of hair on the chick, and they're whitish grey.. and the beak is really interesting..it's very big and wide, and rubbery at the same time.. but the 1hr interval feeding is really quite tiring.. =P

she's doing fine now, pooping an amazing lot.. and yep, I read online that mynahs can start talking/mimicking at the age of 2 mths, even the common mynahs you see around. hopefully she'll be tame and all, and maybe I'll bring her to a MoPA outing.. wahahaha...

wow that sounds real interesting!! they actually came back o find you? btw did ur young one managed to learn to sing/say anything before flying away?

proviewsg: nope nope, not yet.. but most likely it'll be a combined effort for the name in my block =)

and I have this funny feeling the mynah will end up thinking its just a very huge and big brown parrotlet.. haha cuz its neighbours now are two parrotlets =)
